Due to some difficulties the "Paws for Purple Hearts Virtual Event" scheduled for this weekend has been rescheduled to start Friday August ~~19th~~ 18th. Flyer and instructions about the Virtual Event will be sent out soon!

Coachella Valley Chapter 360 initiated another new member, John Earl, on Tuesday, June 27th.

We started the evening with light refreshments, followed by the meeting with the initiation.

We were so thankful to Lynn Arias, who filled in as Esther for the ceremony!

Our chapter is dark until September, and hope you all enjoy your summer.

Upcoming meeting! Tuesday June 27th

Good afternoon all,

We, unfortunately, had to cancel our last stated meeting, which was scheduled for June 13, 2023.

We have a date set for our make-up meeting.

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 27th.

We will have light refreshments beginning at 6 pm in the dining room.

The meeting will begin at 7 pm, with the initiation of another candidate! We are so excited!

The requested attire is formal or cocktail dresses for the ladies and dark suits and ties for the men. You do not need to wear the white formals.

I apologize for the unexpected cancellation of our last meeting. I hope you are all able to join us on June 27th.

Officers, please let me know immediately if you are unable to attend.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Good afternoon everyone,

I want to remind everyone about our Fashion Show and Luncheon fundraiser, which is Saturday, May 20th. The event is at the Heritage Palms Country Club, 44-291 South Heritage Palms Drive, Indio. Please use the south entrance, off of Fred Waring Drive. Doors open at 11:00 am for silent auction and social hour. Lunch will be served at noon. We have lots of wonderful gifts that have been donated for our silent auction. If you choose to bid on an item, please plan to bring checks or cash, as we are not able to accept credit cards. There will also be a 50/50 raffle, with tickets sold in increments of $5 each. Please bring cash if you plan to participate in the raffle. This will be a fun event, and I look forward to seeing you all there! (if you have any questions, you may call Cec Speaker @ 760-641-8864.)

Our next chapter meeting will be Tuesday, May 23. We will be balloting that night, as well as demonstrating the examination of a visitor. It is also our Memorial Service, which is a very somber occasion, as we remember our members who have passed. Ladies, please wear white formals if you have them, otherwise, white skirt/blouse or white dress is ok. Men, please wear your tuxes.

Please note: sister Dawn will not be able to prepare the meal for us that night, so we will be having a potluck. I would like each member to bring a dish to share. We usually have 20-25 people dining. Please bring your favorite entree, main dish salads, sides, or dessert. Thank you all and I look forward to our meeting.

Dates for your Calendar in May

Greetings all, and happy May Day!

As I mentioned in last Tuesday's meeting, we have a very busy month ahead. So get out your calendars and note the following information:

THURSDAY, MAY 4th, 6 pm. Masons Dinner at the Lodge. Socializing begins at 6 pm, dinner at 6:30. Sister Dawn will be making street tacos, rice and beans with fresh fruit salad and homemade cookies for dessert. Dress is business casual. You may invite family and friends to join us for dinner, we'd love to have them. Please RSVP to Dawn Gummer at 760-799-4942 so we know how many to expect. The cost per person is $10.

SUNDAY MAY 7th: 2 pm at the lodge. Initiation Practice. This is for installed officers. Our deputy, Debbie Conway, will be leading us in our practice for this very important event. Please be prompt. Dress is casual. The practice may take about 2 hours.

TUESDAY MAY 9TH, 6 pm: Our first meeting of May! The dinner begins at 6 pm, with our meeting following at 7 pm. Our deputy, Debbie Conway, will be conducting her Official Visit. We are also having an initiation of our new member, Heather Reylek. In honor of our new initiate, the dress code will be semi-formal. Ladies, floor length or cocktail length below the knee dress or dressy skirts, and men black or dark suits. This is an exciting event in the life of a Chapter, and I look forward to welcoming our new sister.

SATURDAY MAY 20th, 11 am: Coachella Valley's Fashion Show and Luncheon! This event will be held at Heritage Palms Country Club in Indio. Tickets are $50.00 and include a delicious lunch and fashion show. This event is open to all of our women friends and family. In addition to the fashion show, there will be a silent auction, a 50-50 raffle, and door prizes. Please note that we are only able to accept cash or checks, no credit cards. TUESDAY MAY 23rd, 6 pm: Memorial meeting. Dinner begins at 6 pm, with our meeting at 7. This is a very special, somber memorial service where we remember those chapter members we have lost during the year. Women officers will wear white floor length or knee length dress/skirt, and men black tuxes.

WEDNESDAY MAY 24TH: 6:30 pm. Scottish Rite Dinner at the lodge. Plan to come at 6 pm to socialize, with dinner served at 6:30. Please make a reservation on the Scottish Rite website, psscottishrite.org. The cost is $25 per person, and you may pay online when you make your reservation.

MONDAY MAY 29th, 9 am: Memorial Day Wreath Ceremony at Coachella Valley Cemetery, Coachella. Our chapter will be participating in this memorial service by presenting our Eastern Star wreath. This is such a touching event, with presentations by valley leaders and organizations. If you are interested in joining us, please contact me at 630-605-0896. Parking is very limited, so car-pooling is recommended.
